New Delhi: In a major welfare initiative aimed at ensuring timely medical assistance for police personnel and their families, the Central District Police has ordered the immediate issuance and delivery of Emergency Treatment Certificates (ETCs), eliminating procedural delays that often hinder access to treatment at empanelled hospitals.

Acting on directions issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central District, dedicated staff and riders attached to the Medical Branch at District Lines have been tasked with ensuring the prompt delivery of ETCs either to the residence of the concerned employee or directly to the hospital where treatment is being provided. The move is expected to facilitate swift and hassle-free access to emergency healthcare services.

The initiative aims to provide immediate medical support during critical situations and spare police personnel and their families the inconvenience of completing formalities while dealing with emergencies. All unit in-charges have been directed to maintain close coordination and ensure seamless implementation so that urgent medical treatment is not delayed.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-II, Central District, Prashant Chaudhary, who issued the order with immediate effect, stressed that any lapse, delay, or negligence in implementing the directions would be viewed seriously. He warned that strict action would be taken against officials found responsible for non-compliance.

The measure underscores the Central District Police’s commitment to the welfare and morale of its personnel, ensuring that those entrusted with public safety receive timely support and medical care when they need it most.
